We all have days where we feel weary and heavy because of the things that we carry in this world. There are days where we feel hurt by a friend or heartbroken by a word spoken, days when we are pulled into a situation where things just feel out of control, or maybe the amount of stress that we carry is heavy. I know from my own life that it can simpler to sit and feel the pain of the day then to fight and let God have that pain.
Sometimes we can’t help but feel overwhelmed, but we are called as believers to let God fight our battles, to fight them in prayer, to fight them with Grace and in a gracious way. I know that’s not always the easy road, but God’s Word never says that our walk will be easy. However God does say a few things that we need to remember in those times.
1) Matthew 11:28-30, God says, come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For your yoke is easy and burden is light.
2) Be still and know that I am God.
3) Be anxious for nothing, but trust in everything.
4) Cast your cares and anxieties upon Him because He care for you.
God loves us and stands next to us no matter where life journey requires us to walk down. He will walk with us whether the trial and path is one that He has lead us down, or one of our own making. He will never fail to be there by our side and to love us through the path. He is the God that stands closer than a brother, loves better than a father, and is closer than any friend we could ever know.
God will be there in our darkest day and on our best day; God will be there when we smile and when we cry our deepest tears. He will lift us out of the pit of despair and love us through it all!
