About

What To Expect

Our worship services are virtual via Zoom.  We encourage you to sign-in about 10 minutes before the service starts so you can fellowship with your spiritual family. Our services start with music, often songs you might recognize if you listen to Christian radio - Bethel Music, Elevation, Jesus Image.  The Pastor teaches a bible-based message with practical application to help you live out your faith during the week, followed by prayer for any needs and praise reports.  Some services we celebrate communion, but there’s no pressure to participate if you don’t want to.  Services are usually a little over an hour, and then you’re welcome to hang out virtually and talk with people afterwards.

Our Story

Joy Christian Fellowship was founded in January 1988 by Pastor Lars and Denise Kleynhans.  The church was established with a desire to see God impact Toronto. Today Pastors Anthony and Joan Faul seek to lead people to freedom in Christ through a ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Who We Are

Joy Christian Fellowship is a community of believers who exist to see people healed, delivered, and made whole through the power of the Holy Spirit, and restoration of families through teaching, counselling, and prayer.  We desire to see people walking in freedom and their rights as sons and daughters of the Most High King; embracing their true identity and authority in Christ.

Church Timeline

March 1988 - we held our first annual congregational meeting, where we set our constitution and adopted the name Etobicoke Christian Fellowship.  The church joined the Canadian Fellowship of Churches and Ministers (CFCM), and began holding services at the  Holiday Inn in Etobicoke.

March 1991 - the church leased  a storefront at Dundas & Kipling

February 1996 - we moved our services to a small hotel on Rexdale Blvd near Hwy 27.

June 2000 - the church began to rent space from another church in Etobicoke.

March 2002 - the church building that we we renting was sold and our congregation moved to  the Heritage Inn on Rexdale Blvd.  It was at this time that the congregation voted to change our name to Joy Christian Fellowship.

November 2003 - JCF came to rest at the Toronto Travelodge (now the Doubletree by Hilton).

June 2018 - Pastor Anthony and Joan Faul took over as Lead Pastors of Joy Christian Fellowship.

March 2020 – The Church adopted a virtual meeting format in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Beliefs

  • The Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
  • There is one God, manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • The reality of satan and that his present control over mankind does exist.
  • The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection and ascension to right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory as the Kings of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
  • Fall of man and his lost estate, which makes necessary a rebirth through the belief in, and confession of, the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Reconciliation of man by the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Resurrection of believers unto everlasting life in Heaven and of unbelievers into everlasting punishment in Hell.
  • The present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit as found in I Corinthians 12:11 and Hebrews 2:4 and that that ministry will continue until the Lord’s return.
  • The Church is called to the Unity of the Faith as found in Ephesians 4:11-13.

Our Purpose

Vision

We are called to reach families with the love of God, and to promote healing for the hurting while ministering to all aspects of the family. We seek to see people set free from bondage through deliverance and supernatural healing. We seek to minister life through Vlogs, Workshops, Healing and deliverance sessions, conferences as well as in-person and virtual counselling sessions.  We desire to see people walking in freedom and their rights as sons and daughters of the Most High King, and embracing their true identity and authority in Christ.

Mission

Joy Christian Fellowship is a place of love and acceptance, where people can find wholeness and freedom through deliverance, healing, and mentorship by the power of the Holy Spirit.   We teach and live the Gospel with the expectation of individual and family restoration, while walking with Families to help them see the fullness and authority God has given them.  We seek to create disciples of Christ through anointed teaching and impartation by creating supernatural encounters with God.
